The Frenchman is gradually emerging as a formidable technical for to Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah after masterminding a victory over Ghana on the second match-day of the AFCON qualifiers. Kenya 1 Ghana 0 : The match analysis

I understand that the main purposes of friendly games are to give opportunities to new players and experiment with different formations. But it makes little sense to me for a team to produce excellent results against two teams who were going to the World Cup – Japan and Iceland – but fail to produce a bold performance in a competitive qualifying game in which the team could’ve actually done better. It is not the result that is most worrying. After all the Kenyans didn’t score a goal of their own but the bigger issues are the 90 minutes of lack of sharpness and…

Opinion – Why It won’t make sense to take captaincy from Partey

After his important equalizer against Congo in Kumasi in the 1-1 draw and a hat trick against the Congolese in the reverse game in Kintele as Ghana won 5-1 in September last year and finishing 2017 as Black Stars highest goal scorer with 5 goals, Thomas Partey went on to take leadership responsibility by skippering the Black Stars in the international friendlies against Japan and Iceland. It will therefore not make any sense for Kwesi Appiah to take the captaincy from the Atletico Madrid player who was right there when…
