Yaw Preko lands Ghana U20 job

Yaw Preko is the new head coach of Ghana U20 team, according to local media reports. The 44 year old gaffer has been unattached after his spell with Nigerian top-flight side FC Ifeanyi Ubah. Preko has rich experience working with the national youth team as assistant to Sellas Tetteh at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey. He also had spells with Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies. George Lamptey will join him as his assistant coach.

Kudus on target for FC Nordsjælland in defeat to Esbjerg

Ghana U-20 midfielder Mohammed Kudus was on target for FC Nordsjælland in their 2-1 home defeat to Esbjerg in the Danish Superliga on Sunday. The 18 year old broke the deadlock in the 38th minute after combining beautifully with Ulrik Yttergard to hand ‘The Wild Tigers’ the advantage. The goal was Kudus’ second in the league this term. The lead was short-lived as Yuri Yakovenko pulled the visitors level four minutes later before Carlo Holse scored a 59th minute bullet header to give Esbjerg a 2-1 victory. Kudus has made 19 league appearances this season involving 12 starts.

Ghanaian international defender Patrick Asmah scored for FK Senica in their 4-1 win over Nitra in the Slovakian Super Liga playoff on Saturday.
