Ghana Black Queens Omitted from this year’s All African Games

Ghana’s senior national women’s team the Black Queens have been sidelined by the Confederation of Africa Football CAF at this years African Games to be staged in Morocco. This was made known after the results of the draw for the All Africa Games Rabat 2019 Football (Men, Women), conducted Monday, June 10, 2019 in Cairo. Surprisingly Ghana did not make the list of qualified countries per the rules governing the tournament. WAFU Women’s Cup:Black Queens edge Mali in penalty shootout to win bronze

Black Queens displayed a resolute defence and some steely nerves  in dispatching Mali in a 8-7 penalty shootout to claim bronze at the WAFU Women’s Cup. Following a barren first stanza, the two sides pushed for the initiative in the second half but failed to convert the plethora of chances they had as the game ended in a stalemate. Goalkeeper Fafali Dumehasi emerged the hero with a crucial save to propel Ghana to another podium finish in the competition.
