Defending Champions Asante Kotoko crashed out of the 2020 MTN FA Cup courtesy of a 2-1 defeat to Asokwa Deportivo on Sunday. The second-tier side pulled off a shock at the Len Clay Stadium to dump the Ghana Premier League giants at the Round of 64 stage. Goals in either half from Ransford Owusu Frimpong, Godfred Abban ensured Deportivo progressed at the expense of the Porcupine Warriors. GFA sanctions 4 clubs for failing to honor FA Cup prelim round matches

The GFA Disciplinary Committee has upheld the position of the GFA Prosecutor  that the four Division One League Clubs who failed to honour their MTN FA Cup Preliminary Round matches will not be allowed to enter into the knockout competition for the following two seasons (2020/21 and 2021/22). MTN FA Cup Round of 64: Each club to receive GH¢2,000 as participation fee

Each of the clubs participating in the Round of 64 of the MTN FA Cup competition receive GH¢2,000 as participation fee and GH¢500 worth of airtime.
