Sammy Kuffour passes verdict on Kwasi Appiah’s pre-AFCON captaincy change

Former Ghana international Samuel Osei Kuffour has described as indefensible and ungrounded the changes ex-Black Stars Coach James Kwasi Appiah made to the captaincy prior to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Appiah removed Asamoah Gyan as Black Stars captain, replacing him with Andre Ayew. Gyan subsequently scoffed at the idea and rejected his new role as General Captain. 2021 African Cup of Nations set to be postponed until 2022

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to postpone the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations amid the coronavirus outbreak. The continent’s flagship tournament was scheduled to take place in Cameroon between 9th January and 6th February 2021. However, a report by RMC Sports claims an unnamed source has confirmed the organizers are seriously considering the option of moving the date to January 22.
