Contrary to earlier reports that, Referee Samuel Sukah has been banned for four matches over the penalty he awarded to Ebusua Dwarfs in their match day one fixture against Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League, information available to FootballMadeInGhana.com indicates that, Sukah has rather been slapped with an eight-match ban. The suspension takes effect from next week Monday, April 9, 2018. The Match Review Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after their assessment of the controversial 64th minute decision of Referee Sukah decided that, he showed bad judgement….

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is sparing no effort to rid the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League of personalities whose decisions or indecisions will bring the name of the competition into disrepute. Okai, who was the Match Commissioner in the match day one fixture between Ebusua Dwarfs and Berekum Chelsea in Cape Coast. The suspension takes effective from next week, Monday, April 9, 2018. Editor’s take: Who wins what at MTN FA Cup Awards?

It’s arguably the most attractive football competition on the Ghana Football Association (GFA)’s calendar. It has grown from strength to strength since its return on the GFA’s menu in 2011. It’s unquestionably, the only GFA competition whose planning and organisation continues to receive positive media reviews every season. That hasn’t been by chance. On Wednesday, April 4, 2018 – all who will gather at the M-Plaza Hotel, Roman Ridge, Accra; will be given another shot of the excellent thinking and planning that have constantly gone into anything related to the…

Editor’s take: It was close contest on GPL match day 4

If you didn’t find anything interesting on match day four of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League, you certainly didn’t follow the matches played across the country from Saturday. It may still be early days but on match day four, I saw an intense competition for points. At the end of the day, the league table reveals a keen contest so far. Except leaders Ashgold who have 10 points; WAFA, Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, Dreams FC and Medeama – all have seven points. They are only separated by goals and…

Karim Zito rejects inexperience tag of his players

Dreams FC might have lost 1-0 to Hearts of Oak on match day four of the Ghana Premier League at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday. But that defeat, can’t in any way, serve as the platform to describe his players are novices who lacked the strength to compete with Hearts of Oak. This was the notice Coach Abdul Karim Zito gave in no ambiguous terms when answering questions from journalists after the match which Hearts won with Patrick Razak’s 18th minute goal. “What’s the meaning of experience? It’s something…

Liberty Professionals’ troubles continue

Liberty Professionals failed to record their first win in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League once again as they drew 1-1 at home with Medeama in their match day four fixture. Striker, Kwame Boateng shot the visitors into the lead before Benjamin Eshun equalised for the scientific soccer lads, who would have a fine opportunity to go up with a penalty in the second half which was sadly missed by Brite Andoh. It was the second time Liberty had dropped points at home this season. On match day two in their…

How ruthless Aduana Stars whipped Inter Allies 6-0

Apparently angered by their disappointing start to the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League, defending champions, Aduana Stars shook off their lethargy on match day four when they descended heavily on Inter Allies and whipped them 6-0 with man of the match, Yahaya Mohammed scoring a hat trick before missing a penalty in 40 minutes. Bright Agyei, Nathaniel Asamoah and Emmanuel Akuoko were the other scorers for Aduana Stars. It was a game that not only provided goals but also a bit of controversy as Inter Allies goalkeeper, Kwame Baah was sent…

Suraj Ibrahim shines as Sharks beat WAFA 2-0

Defender, Suraj Ibrahim was the best performer on Saturday night at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium when Elmina Sharks recorded their first win in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League, beating WAFA 2-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi. Exchanges between the two sides in the first 30 minutes didn’t give any impression as to which team will carry the day. They matched themselves confidently and left no room for mistakes. Richard Mpong’s experience however counted so much in the 33rd minute when his excellent cross was powerfully headed home…
