High-flying Division three side Citi Football Academy have secure promotion to the National third tier League following their 2-1 win over Sporting Time Academy on Sunday.

The Aboabo No2 based club qualified alongside Mmenson Football Club and Sporti Talent Academy on Sunday.

The three clubs will compete in next season’s Ashanti Regional Division Two League.

Citi Football Academy defeated Tafo based Union Sporting Club in a pulsating encounter at the Asem Park on Sunday morning.

Goal monger Ike Kuffour gave Citi Football Academy an early lead with his 9th goal of the competition with a simple header.

Addai Boadu Dominic captilalized from a goalkeeping error to draw Sporting Acadmey level.

Union Sporting Academy had several opportunities to grab the winner but couldn’t find the back of the net.

Citi Football Academy left it late to grab the winner after defending gallantly in the second half.

Gilbert Afreh connected a cross from Kofi Adubofour to snatch the winner for the ‘One Dream One team side.

In the second game, Mmenson FC threw away a two goal lead following a great second half performance from Mighty Stars.

Mmenson went on to win 5-4 on penalty shoot out.

The last game of the day saw Sporti Talent defeat Kharis Academy to secure promotion to the Division Two League.
