Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted he’s gradually introducing Partey into the game following the midfielder’s return from injury.
Partey has been on the sidelines for nearly two months and missed Arsenal’s start to the 2021/22 Premier League season. The midfielder’s absence had a telling impact on the gunners as they lost their opening three league games and failed to score in any of those games either.
Partey’s return has however given the Gunners a new lease of life as they have won their last two matches in a row, keeping clean-sheets in both games as well.
The midfielder is yet to play the full 90 minutes since his return from the length spell on the sidelines and was once again withdrawn in the Gunners’ last premier league game against Burnley.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed he’s managing the workload for the midfielder due to his recent return from injury.
“He struggled at the end. He was cramping but that will come because he’s missed a long time. He needs some fitness back,” – Arteta said.
Partey has been instrumental for the Gunners since his return, providing security for the back four which has led to the team’s recent shut-out of their opponents.
