Angry Asante Kotoko fans have charged on the CEO of the club Nana Yaw Amponsah for employing Portuguese trainer Mariano Barreto as head coach of the club, insisting he’s not cut for job.
To the fans, there are better local managers in Ghana who could have been appointed to coach the club not the former Black Stars trainer.
They believe Barreto is outdated and lack ideas for the modern game.
Pouring out their displeasure after their Super Clash defeat to Hearts of Oak in Accra on Sunday, the fans who could hardly discover their way back home jumped on the leadership of the club angrily calling for the head of the coach.
“Is this a coach? One of them questioned.
“A coach who couldn’t handle the Black Stars and you think he can handle Kotoko?” he added.

The Porcupine Warriors were pipped by their bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium courtesy a supersonic strike from Daniel Afriyie.
Barreto, since his appointment, has suffered not more than 5 defeats in all competition but the fans have strong agitations on his conservative approach to games.
The Kotoko manager has been playing with improvised center forwards while Andy Kumi and Sarfo Taylor are always relegated to the bench, forcing the fans to think he’s lost his mojo.
The painful defeat suffered in the hands of the Phobians leave the Porcupine Warriors three points behind in the title chase with three games to end the season.
