Bekwai Youth Football Academy gave out an improved second half performance to beat Mallam Yahaya’s Wassaman United by a lone goal at the Nana Gyamfi Park in Bekwai on Sunday afternoon.

Midfielder Frank Antwi fetched the only goal in extra time to give the home side the vital victory.

Both teams managed to play cautiously in the first half, creating few chances in the process.

The second half was full of few attempts to get the lead, but BYFA got the only goal with the game almost ending.

The victory comes with three points in opening day for the home side while Clement Adu of Wassaman United emerged man of the match.

Elsewhere, Bibiani Gold Stars made an audacious mark in opening day, following a 1 – 0 win over Nzema Kotoko at the Gyandu Park.

The away win gives a huge morale booster to the Bibiani-based club as they aspire to seal
a Premier League qualification this season.

Surprisingly, Skyy FC came from behind to split honors with Cape Coast Venomous Vipers at their favorite home ground. The results will alert them to be cautious of the ongoing campaign.
