Spanish side Real Mallorca are seriously sweating over the injury of Ghana midfielder Baba Iddrisu ahead of their clash with Alcorcon on Monday.
The midfielder suffered an injury a week ago, forcing him to miss his side’s 0-0 draw at home to Albacete in the Spanish Segunda Division on Thursday.
The 24-year-old missed the match at the Iberostar Estadi due to a muscle discomfort and the Mallorca giants are struggling to have a replacement for his absence.
Head coach Luis Garcia has described the club’s inability to fill the void left by Baba as a shame as the Ghanaian is likely to miss their tough clashes with Alcorcon and Malaga.
“It’s a shame, because, as we said, we don’t have a natural substitute for Baba,” Luis Garcia told the club’s website.
“I think Sedlar against CD Lugo was phenomenal and against Albacete he had another good game. Going forward, it could be Antonio Sánchez, it could be Iñigo and it could be Salva Sevilla.
“We will have to have a mix between two central midfielders. It’s a shame because there are lot of games in these two weeks and we will see if he (Baba) recovers in time for Alcorcón.
“I don’t think they will, but hopefully either Iddrisu Baba or Aleksandar Sedlar could recover for Málaga,” Luis Garcia added.
Baba is set to be out for about three weeks.
