Head coach of Elmina Sharks Yaw Acheampong is anticipating a tough competition in the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.

The 2019/2020 was truncated after 15 games following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic which forced the suspension of football for six months.

However, with the new season set to start on November 13, Yaw Acheampong believes all the clubs who suffered in the abandoned league have learnt their lesson and this season’s league will be tough.

“The league will be tough this time round because when you speak with King Faisal FC you will know that they have learnt their lessons,” he told Max FM.

“So we equally have to be ready before the commencement of the league.”

The coach also disclosed his target for the 2020/2021 season.

“My target is to go far in this year’s league, I will take it match after match. I believe that, the more we pick points the closer we become to the promise land.”

The Elmina based club have beefed up their squad with the signing of Justice Ato Mensah, James Bissue and Amissah Anfoh Assan.
