Asante Kotoko gave its fans a glimpse of what to expect in the season ahead following a dominant win over lower-tier side Odweanoma FC in a pre-season friendly.

The game was the first for Maxwell Konadu’s side as they prepare for the 2020-21 football season.

The game took place at the All Nations University Park, in Koforidua, the venue for Asante Kotoko’s pre-season camping and had 3 new players, Emmanuel Keyekeh, Yusif Mubarik and Emmanuel Sarkodie starting.

Young striker Osman Ibrahim (who was on-loan last season at King Faisal) opened the scoring for the Porcupine Warriors inside the first five minutes before Guinean forward Naby Keita doubled it from the spot inside 41 minutes.

Back from recess, Coach Maxwell Konadu shuffled his squad and presented an entirely different setup from the first half.

New striker Kwame Poku capped off the win with another goal in the 77th minute to make it 3-0 for Asante Kotoko.

The win will inject confidence and belief in the players ahead of the new season while fans will feel excited with such a positive result.

Asante Kotoko will compete in the Ghana Premier League, The FA Cup and the CAF Champions league.
