The revered football honcho had been unwell for sometime and gave up the fight for survival; a situation which has thrown the football fraternity into an entire state of shock.
Asante Kotoko posted via their twitter page that, ‘We are saddened by the news of painful demise of Alhaji Yakubu Moro. Alhaji until his demise was the President of Berekum Arsenal FC and an iconic figure in Ghana Football. Sir , May Allah grant you rest and everlasting peace’. 🙏#AKSC #KotokoCares
Yakubu Moro’s Arsenal enjoyed their hey days in Ghana’s top flight in the early to mid-2000’s when they even qualified for the CAF Confed Cup.
The Berekum Gunners progressed to the second round after eliminating Congolese side Diable Noirs only to be kicked out by Angolan giant Petro Atletico Luanda.
The late Yakubu Moro will be buried on Friday as per the dictates of the Islamic religion.
