Ghana after a disappointing defeat to Mali three days ago responded by putting five in the net of Qatar.
A brace from the skipper Andre Ayew and one each from Torique Fosu, Samuel Owusu and Caleb Ekuban earned Ghana a resounding victory.
Footballmadeinghana rated the performance of the Ghanaian players by (10).
Razak Abalora (GK)- ( 6) – The former Azam goalkeeper looks a bit rusty in the game. Failed to communicate with his defence bulid up to the Qatar goal. But apart from that he was well composed at the back.
Benson Annang -(7)- What a debut he has had. The youngster played with so much confidence on the flanks. Contributed a lot on the attack and looked solid defensively. A great prospect for the future.
Joseph Aidoo – (5) – He could have done better to prevent Moez Alli from scoring for Qatar. Got his calculation wrong and left the Qatar attacker to score easily. But apart from that his combination with Djiku looks promising.
Alexander Djiku- (7)- Started at the heart of the defense alongside Aidoo. He looked well composed at the back. His performance today will send signals to the rest of the defenders competing at the same position with him.
Gideon Mensah -(6) – Was defensively solid. Combined very well with Fosu on the left side. Didn’t offer much on the attack.
Iddrisu Baba -(7) – The Real Mallorca midfielder justified why he should be starting for the national team. Well composed and won almost all the one on one battle against his opponent. His tackles and ball circulation was spot on.
Samuel Owusu – (8 ) – Scored Ghana’s third with a beautiful strike. He also provided a lot of options in the attack for C K Akonnor. Assisted Caleb Ekuban to wrap up Ghana’s victory.
Thomas Teye Partey- (7) – Came to the Party finally. Looked sharp and more involved in the game compare to the Mali game. Bossed the midfield alongside Baba Iddrisu. Assisted Sameul Owusu for Ghana’s third with a delicious pass from the middle.
Tariqe Fosu -( 7)- Just his second game for the Black Stars but Fosu plays with a lot of confidence. Broke the deadlock of the game with a calm finish. He was a thorn in the flesh of the Qatar defense. Justify why he should remain in the team going forward.
Andre Morgan Ayew (C)-(8) – Rosed to the occasion when he was needed. Was much involve in the game and ran everywhere on the pitch. Scored two of Ghana’s goals to cap of a great performance.
Jordan Ayew -(8) – Unlucky not to get his name on the score sheet. Worked very hard for the team. Assisted Ayew for his second and his shot resulted in Ghana’s opener.
Kamaldeen Sulemana -(5) – Didn’t make any impact in the game.
Yakubu Mohammed – (5) – Panicked at the beginning but settled very well later.
Caleb Ekuban -(6) – Came in late and made his presence felt by scoring the fifth goal of the game.
