Former Ghana international Mallam Yahaya has clarified that he is still with Division One Side Wasaman United despite being announced as the new assistant of Karela United.

Premier League side Karela United in May following the sacking of Enos Adepa announced Evans Adottey as the new head coach with Mallam Yahaya as his deputy.

Mallam Yahaya left Wassaman United before the 2019/20 league season was cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak but has confirmed that he has returned to the club after the management of the club convinced him to return.

“I am still with Wasaman,  I didn’t go to Karela United. I can’t tell you what happened. But I’m with Wassaman United.” Yahaya told footballmadeinghana.com in an interview.

“We have even started pre-season preparing for the upcoming season. At the right time i will talk.”

Meanwhile Karela United are on the verge of appointing Stephen Abugri as their new assistant coach.
