Black Stars striker Jordan Ayew has been crowned the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) footballer of the year.
The 28 year old saw off competition from Mubarak Wakaso and Thomas Partey to clinch the coveted trophy.
His award was presented to him by Ghana Football Association Kurt Okraku at the Black Stars camp base in Antalya, Turkey ahead of Monday’s friendly against Qatar.
Ayew enjoyed a remarkable 2019/20 campaign with Crystal Palace in the English Premiership.
He finished the season as The Eagles’ top scorer, having notched nine goals in 32 appearances.
Ayew was also named Crystal Palace’s Player of the Year award and Players’ Player of the Year at the club’s end of season awards.
