Former Ghana U20 playmaker Samuel Alabi has successfully completed a 4-year move to Swiss side FC Luzern, the club has announced.

Alabi, 20, is joining from Israeli side FC Ashdod where he spent a season after his move from Dreams FC.

The 20-year-old Ghanaian today signed a contract that will run until June 30, 2024 and will intensify the FC Luzern offensive in the future.

Samuel Alabi started his career in Ghana at Dreams FC before joining Ashdod FC for the 2019/20 season.

The right footed play maker who is versatile and can be used in various offensive positions, impresses with its modern style of play and is intended to additionally stimulate FC Luzern’s offensive in the future.

Due to the official requirements, Samuel Alabi will spend the next eight days in quarantine at home and then start training with Fabio Celestini’s team.

“We have been watching Samuel for a long time,” said FCL sports director Remo Meyer on the occasion of the signing of the contract.

“He’s an interesting young player who convinced us above all with his ability to have a decisive influence on the game on the offensive. We are sure that he will be a great asset to us in the years to come.”

Alabi’s Iniesta-like play is the what the Swiss giants need to transform their side to be competitive in the Swiss League which just started last week.

The former Dreams FC midfielder was always in the headlines during his stay with FC Ashdod in Israel where he spent a year after departing Ghana.
