Asante Kotoko

Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah has pledged that the club will donate an amount of GH₵ 5000 to the victims of the Offinso Accident involving a juvenile club last weekend.

6 young footballers perished while several others suffered various degrees of injuries in an accident on Sunday at Offinso, near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, when they were returning from a player registration exercise.

The players aged between 12-15 and numbering over 30 had travelled to Afrancho for their District Colts Football registration exercise at Afrancho.

As the football fraternity grieves over this sad occurrence, Asante Kotoko’s pledge has come in a timely manner to soothe hearts.

It follows an initial pledge by the Ghana FA to donate the entire allowance package of its Executive Council to support the victims and the bereaved families.

Speaking at an event to unveil its newly constituted management team of Asante Kotoko, Club CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah said “I wish to pledge on behalf of Asante Kotoko to donate ¢5000 to help in taking care of the accident victims.”
