Former Chairman of the Player Status Committee of the Ghana Football Association Kofi Manu has been charged on two counts with bribery and abuse of power by the federation.

Popularly known as Blue Boy, Kofi Manu will be given the opportunity to appear before the Ethics Committee if he wants to.

The respected football administrator who has served several clubs in both the Premier and Division One Leagues was first charged with abuse of position contrary to Article 25(1) of the GFA Code of Ethics, 2019.

In a charge sheet signed by Supt. Solomon Korli (Gfa Prosecutor) Kofi Manu is also charged with abuse of position in his capacity as the then Chairman of the Player Status Committee for reportedly accepting cash from “Tiger Eye PI” official to expedite and facilitate the signing of a letter of a player as a free agent by virtue of his influential position.

Mr. Manu was spotted in a video receiving an envelope from an unknown person, reported to be bribery in the #12 Exposé, an investigative piece by Anas Armeyaw Anas.

Blue Boy has until September 24, 2020 to respond to the charged leveled against him or face the Ethics Committee in person or risk facing severe sanctions from the Ghana FA.
