Ghana’s Wakaso Mubarak has finally departed Accra on Thursday, July 8 for China as he prepares to commence his career with Super League side Jiangsu Suning.
Wakaso completed a move to the club some 6 months ago ahead of the restart of the new Chinese top flight season.
The player who has penned a three year deal had to move to China to join his new teammates but that has been delayed until now due to the CoronaVirus outbreak which has halted all football activities.
However as situations have meliorated, the ownership of the Nanjing based club sent for Wakaso with a private jet to ensure he can finally link up with Head Coach Cosmin Olariou and the rest of the squad.
Though Ghana’s airport remains closed, the government and airport authorities gave Wakaso a special dispensation to travel out of the country.
