Exclusive information available to footballmadeinghana.com is that the Executive Council of the Ghana FA has NOT voted to cancel the 2019/2020 league season as has been reported in the media.

Reports in the local media are that the Ghana FA ExCo, during their virtual meeting on Tuesday had unanimously voted for the cancellation of the league which is currently on hold due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

CheckS conducted by footballmadeinghana.com have revealed that the ExCo of the Ghana FA did not even discuss the subject of continuing or cancelling the league during the meeting on Tuesday.

A source close to the Ghana FA ExCo told footballmadeinghana.com that a decision on whether to continue the league or not will be taken on the 30th of June, as earlier announced by the football association.

It is, however, unclear whether the league will be cancelled or not on the 30th June deadline given by the FA but the decision as of now has not been taken.

The news of the cancellation of the season may throw some clubs off as it is likely to force clubs to bring an abrupt end to their programs.

But football clubs will have to wait for two more weeks to know the fate of the league and how they go about with their programming.

The Ghana football season has been suspended since March this year following the outbreak of the deadly disease.
