Head Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Maxwell Konadu has revealed that he will need not less than 6 weeks to ready his team for competitive action in the event football is given the green light to resume.

2019-20 Ghana Football season has been on break since Mid-March following government imposed restrictions that became necessary due to the Corona-Virus pandemic. There are expectations that the restrictions could be eased by July 31 paving way for football to continue.

In the event that this happens, Maxwell Konadu has revealed that Asante Kotoko will need a rigorous training program lasting 6 weeks minimum.

He told Happy FM in an interview, “After playing no football for over two months, you don’t need not less than six weeks; we will need about six weeks to get them back to where they were.

“Almost all coaches are struggling to get their players to maintain their basic endurance levels.

“2 weeks for physicals, you then kick in friendly matches 1-2 weeks. So we don’t need not less than 6 weeks to come back,” he noted.
