The inauguration of newly appointed Board of directors of Kumasi Asante Kotoko which was set to happen on Thursday June 4 has been postponed by the Manhyia Palace, local radio station Opemsuo FM has confirmed.

According to reports by the Palace’s official media outlet, Nananom has decided to push the event to next Tuesday, June 9.

The Manhyia Palace made a big announcement last week when they constituted Kotoko’s new 9 member board of directors. According to a statement signed by the Palace’s Chief of Staff, Kofi Badu, the board was set up following recommendations from the Prof. Lydia Nkansah Committee tasked to investigate the tenure of Kwame Kyei, who now heads the board.

The Business mogul had spent 3 years as Kotoko’s Executive chairman.

He will be joined on the board by Mr Joe Arthur, Board Chairman of the Ghana Commercial Bank, Mr Kwadwo Boateng Genfi, Board Chairman of the Ghana Exim Bank and Mr Kwasi Osei Ofori, Chairman Erdmark Group and Chief Executive Officer, Rocksure Mining Company.

The rest are Alhaji Lamine, businessman, Mr Kwamena Mensah, lawyer, Mr Joseph Yaw Adu, a retired Director of Sports at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Baffour Kwame Kusi, Otumfuo’s Ankobiahene and Ms Evelyn Nsiah-Asare, Acting Head of Sports at the Sunyani Technical University.

They will work for a term of three years.
