Former FIFA Referee, Alexander Neequaye Kotey is seeking divine help to flourish in his new role as the Referees Manager of the Ghana Football Association.
As the Referees Manager, Alex Kotey will head the Refereeing Department of the GFA and has been offered a one-year renewable contract based on performance.
Speaking to Adom FM, he has confirmed his appointment and acknowledged the immense task he has at hand.
“Well its true the general secretary has called me to confirm, I have been informed about it but im yet to go for the terms of reference”
he told Adom FM.
“It is a very huge task, but I pray that God gives me the wisdom and knowledge to succeed. He should also give us the strength to keep going” he concluded.
Alex Kotey won the 2006 Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Referee of the Year.
He has worked as a Referees Instructor, Referee Assessor and also a Match Commissioner and is a FIFA – Futuro III Technical Trainee Coach, Referee Assessor.
He also serves as a CAF Technical Coach and CAF Technical Assessor and has previously served on the GFA Disciplinary Committee and the Referees Committee.
