Former Ghana goalkeeper George Owu names Oliver Kahn as childhood idol

Former Ghana international goalkeeper George Owu has named former Bayern Munich No.1 Oliver Khan as his idol.

Owu revealed he grew up watching the legendary German shotstopper and tried to mirror his game.

“I wanted to become like Oliver Khan, though, I met a lot of great goalkeepers in Ghana like my brother Ben Owu who was the Black Starlets number 1 by then – I started my goalkeeping tutorials with him before Salifu Ansah, Edward Ansah took over,” he told Myfabulousonline.com.

”These were very good goalkeepers but Oliver Khan was my role model.”

Kahn is considered one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time. He was named world goalkeeper of the year on three occasions (1999, 2001, and 2002).
