Ghana Football Association President, Kurt E.S. Okraku has described Kwesi Appiah’s demand for his unpaid salaries as ‘unfortunate’.

The former Black Stars coach has been on the neck of the FA demanding for his unpaid salaries threatening to proceed to FIFA to seek redress.

But the GFA President has worryingly claimed that the association and the Sports Ministry had initiated processes to settle the embattled coach which he Kwasi Appiah his aware.

“It’s most unfortunate how the issue of Kwasi Appiah’s arrears has been in the media space and I do not want the GFA or the government to come in the media space.

“We have initiated the processes and everybody including Kwasi Appiah know this fact; that the GFA engages him but, his salary is not paid by the GFA.

“The salaries of all national team coaches are been paid by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and they do it via their sponsorship with GNPC, it’s unfortunate he went public but, it’s his singular prerogative.”

Appiah has been breathing down the neck of the Ghana Football Association for his salary arrears and winning bonuses amounting US$ 180,000.
