He told local radio station Ash FM that Zesco United pulled the plugs on the deal materializing after Asante Kotoko decided to overprice the Burkinabe forward.

“I remember that at the beginning of our new season, we were interested in signing Songne Yacouba but the negotiations with Asante Kotoko failed” he revealed.

“Kotoko overpriced the amount on Songne Yacouba that is why we didn’t continue the negotiation, they (Kotoko) were quoting $600,000.

“We (Zesco United) transferred our striker Lazarus Kambole to Kaizer Chiefs for $200,000 and wanted to spend that money on Songne Yacouba but Kotoko were demanding big money.

“It’s not in our knowledge to sign Songne Yacouba”, he wrapped up.

Yacouba now a free agent (after running down hos contract at Kotoko) has also been linked with a move to Ghana Premier league outfit Medeama SC.
