General captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan on behalf of his BabyJet Foundation has made a donation to the Weija Gbawe Constituency to aid in the fight against the deadly novel Coronavirus.

The former Udinese and Sunderland striker donated alcohol based hand rubs and sanitizers, medicated soaps, Veronica buckets, tissues/ paper towels, et al to the people.

Gyan also took time sensitize the people of the Weija-Gbawe constituency in the Greater Accra Region on how to observe some health and safety protocols to stay safe from infection.

Gyan embarked on this initiative in the company of the Ghana Football Association Executive Council Member Samuel Anim Addo who also doubles as the CEO of the BabyJet Foundation.

The Member of Parliament for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Tina Mensah who also serves as the Deputy Minister of Health was there to grace the occasion and received the donated items on behalf of the people.

Ghana has so far recorded 136 cases of Covid-19 with 3 deaths confirmed. The alarming nature of the situation worldwide has influenced directives from government to help curb the spread.

Gyan had earlier on social media implored Ghanaian celebrities to partner government in this quest to win the fight against Covid-19 which has taken the world by storm.
