Ashantigold defender Mubarik Yussif says the 6-1 defeat suffered by his side against WAFA in the match day 11 of the Ghana Premier League is the worst he has suffered in his career since making his professional debut.
Mubarak who is rated among the best defenders in the league revealed he couldn’t eat nor sleep after the game as he was feeling the pain on their way back to Obuasi.
Speaking exclusively to Footballmadeghana.com, Yussif insisted what happened at Sogakope is inexplicable and he will never forget about the game.
” I can’t explain what really happened. I remember after the game I was asking my teammates what just happened us. I couldn’t believe it.
” Because in my career I never lost by 3 goals margin and here I’m conceding 5goals margin. I couldn’t eat and didn’t talk to anyone in the bus after the game. The defeat was shocking. But that is football.”
The former Liberty Professional defender also stated Ashantigold are capable of winning the league despite their recent struggles.
“It happens in football, you can’t win all your games. The victory over Karela United put us back in contention for the league. With the quality we possess I have very sure we can win the league.”
Mubarik Yussif has featured in 14 games in the league scoring two goals and winning one MVP award.
