Legon Cities FC have been named FootballMadeInGhana’s Club of the Week after their stunning performance on match day 13.
The Royals celebrated the 63rd Independence Day anniversary in grand style as they thrashed WAFA 4-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday evening.
Cephas Doku opened the floodgates to put the hosts ahead before Sampson Agyapong drew the visitors level on stroke of half time to make it 1-1 at the break.
After the recess, Ebenezer Nii Addy scored a fantastic goal to restore Legon Cities’ lead before Doku grabbed his brace courtesy of a long range strike to give them a two goal cushion.
Fadilli Yusi added the final nail to the coffin in the 82nd minute to seal all three points.
The victory was Cities’ third win of the season, a result that sees them now tally 16 points from 13 matches.
