Accra Great Olympics will be denied the services of key midfielder Gladson Awako for weeks after he suffered an injury in a Match Week 13 league fixture against Ebusua Dwarfs on Saturday.
Olympics put up a spirited performance to dispatch fellow relegation battlers Ebusua Dwarfs, as goals from Maxwell Abbey and Philip Sackey saw them win 2-0.
The win which comes as a massive boost in their quest for survival was beclouded by the injury suffered by Gladson Awako in the first half.
The former TP Mazembe man’s match came to an abrupt end after he sustained what looked like a broken arm in the 37th minute. There was reprieve subsequently, as scan results proved negative although pictures emerged of his arms bandaged. He is likely to be out for a brief spell while he recovers.
