Ghana Premier league outift Asante Kotoko are understood to be considering moving their home games to the Cape Coast stadium following the closure of the Baba Yara Sports stadium.
Kotoko are on the lookout for a make-do home venue after the sports ministry decided to close down their home venue temporarily with immediate effect.
In a statement released on Monday February 17, the National Sports Authority indicated that the decision to close down the Baba Yard stadium is to allow for both the NSA and the MOYS have ample and uninterrupted time to prepare for Ghana’s 63rd Independence Day Celebrations.
As a result, Kotoko will have to look for a new venue for their home games and sources tell footballmadeinghana.com that the Porcupine Warriors have their eyes fixed on the Cape Coast stadium.
While they are aggressively working around the clock to play their home games at the Cape Coast Stadium, footballmadeinghana.com understands that the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium and the Accra Sports Stadium are also being considered.
Kotoko will face Aduana Stars away on Wednesday in the Ghana Premier League before they host Bechem United on February 28.
It remains to be seen, which venue subsequently hosts this fixture.
