Elmina Sharks striker Benjamin Boateng lead up front of our team of the week after his hat trick against Berekum Chelsea.
Hearts of Oak Richard Arthur was at his usual best for the Phobians on Sunday at Dormaa.
In a 4-2-3-1 formation, check Footballmadeinghana.com’s team of the week.
Richard Atta ( Hearts of Oak) – Continue his good run of form with some fantastic saves to deny Aduana Stars in Dormaa. Denied Yahaya Mohammed twice in the second half and also Fataw Abdul Rahman in the first half.
Christopher Nettey (Kotoko) – Good game by the Asante Kotoko right back. He made sure he kept Dantani quite in the game. Made a lot of surgen runs in the opposition box.
Samuel Kusi ( King Faisal) – Playing as a left wing back, Kusi was arguably King Faisal’a best player on the day. Was denied twice by great goalkeeping by Ato Bilson. Caused a lot of problems to the WAFA defence on the left side.
Caleb Amakwah ( Aduana ) – He keeps getting better game by game. The lanky defender gave Kofi Kordzi no breathing space in the game. He was very solid at the back and made sure his side keep a clean sheet
Masawudu Abdullah ( Dreams FC)- The pillar at the back of Dreams FC. Things could have been worse for ten men Dreams FC if not his interceptions and interventions at the back. He was very solid at the back.
Appiah MacCarthy ( Ashantigold)- He was the link between the midfield and attack of the miners. He dictated the pace of the game with his passes and ability to control the game. Scored the only goal of the game from the spot and won the man of the match after the game.
Emmanuel Keyekeh ( Karela United ) – Great display by the central midfielder. He was everywhere on the pitch. Kept the Medeama midfield shut and always made sure he close down space. Was named man of the match after the game.
Diawisie Taylor ( Karela United )- Scored Karela United’s goal with a nice finish. Was a constant threat to the Medeama defence.
Daniel Afriyie (Hearts of Oak) – Another good display by the young attacker. He has brought life to the Hearts of Oak attack with his runnings and ability to take on defenders. Was unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet.
Victorian Adebayor ( Inter Allies) – Gave his side the lead from the spot. Wasted some good chances to win the game for his side. He was brilliant throughout the game.
Benjamin Boateng (Elmina Sharks) – Bagged himself a hat trick with some wonderful finishes. Proved very difficult to mark out of the game. It could have been worse if he had kept his cool in front of goal.
Coach of the Week – Yaw Acheampong ( Elmina Sharks) – Beating Berekum Chelsea by 3-1 whether home or away is not easy. The victory also ended his side’s 4 home game at home without a win.
