Match Report: Medeama 1-0 Kotoko, Opoku Agyemang’s penalty enough to inflict more pain on ailing Porcupine Warriors

Medeama SC have dealt Asante Kotoko their second defeat of the season following a hard fought 1-0 result at the Tarkwa Akoon Park.

Medeama SC started the Match Week 4 encounter in blistering fashion and the drop of a hat had won a penalty.

The spot kick was awarded after Emmanuel Agyemang Badu was penalised for bringing down Medeama’s Agyenim Boateng.

Prince Opoku Agyemang stepped up and converted successfully to open the account for the home side.

Kotoko subsequently upped their performance and Augustine Okrah forced a save from Medeama stopper Eric Ofori Antwi.

The game went into recess with the home side leading Kotoko. After the break any hopes of a Kotoko comeback were extinguished as they were rendered a man short.

Imoro Ibrahim was given his marching orders after a bad tackle on Medeama’s Daniel Egyin.

With this handicap, Medeama SC capitalised and eventually sailed through unscathed with the three points in the bag.

The win maintains Medeama’s unbeaten run and lifts them to the summit of the league log albeit temporarily pending results from the Legon Cities vs Ashgold clash.

For Kotoko they suffered their second consecutive defeat and definitely fans will begin to agitate at the development.
