Elmina Sharks defeated Inter Allies 3-2 on match day four of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.
The opening minutes at the Accra Sports Stadium was a cagey affair with both teams scrapping for possession especially in the middle of the pitch.
The first chance of the match fell to inter Allies danger man Victorien Adebayor whose curling effort flew just wide of the left post.
But it was Sharks who broke deadlock through Benjamin Tweneboah who was on hand to capitalize on a rebound in the box.
The Capelli boys thought they had drawn level a minute later after Kingsley Braye found the back of the net only for the goal to be incorrectly flagged for outside.
The hosts didn’t allow their heads to drop and kept on probing for the equalizer which arrived on the stroke of half time when Victorien Adebayor restored parity with a composed finish.
The 45th minute striker was the Nigerien international 3rd goal in as many games this season.
After the recess, Elmina Sharks began asserting themselves and eventually got their noses in front again through Benjamin Boateng in the 65th minute.
Before Raphael Ocloo’s sublime finish two minutes later made it 3-1 for the visitors.
Allies responded almost immediately after Samuel Armah connected with Victorien Adebayor’s cross to make it 3-2.
There was not to be any more drama as Elmina Sharks held on for their first win of the new campaign.
