Match Report: Aduana Stars 2-1 King Faisal; Yahaya Mohammed’s brace maintains perfect start for defending champions

Aduana Stars maintained their 100% start to the season by beating King Faisal 2-1 at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

A goal in each half by Yahaya Mohammed was enough to secure the maximum points for the defending league champions. Ibrahim Osman got a late consolation for King Faisal

King Faisal started the game very well and could have taken the lead in the 2nd minute, but Joseph Addo did well to prevent Peprah’s effort.

It took 15 minutes before Aduana Stars found their feet in the game. The home side nearly went ahead through Pious Asante but his shot was well saved by Mustapha Bampoe.

Yahaya Mohammed however broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute; heading home a cross from Justice Anane to put the Ogya Lads in front.

It could have been 2-0 five minutes later but Justice Anane fluffed a golden chance after he had to beat just the goalkeeper.

The first half ended 1-0 amidst cheers from the home fans.

After recess, Aduana Stars came I testified their verve and doubled their performance. This was rewarded as the team registered their second of the day, with Yahaya Mohammed on target.

The former Asante Kotoko striker outjumped the King Faisal defence to head home a free kick from Issac Kwain.

Ibrahim Osman got the consolation for King faisal with 4 minutes to go. That was the first home goal for King Faisal at Dormaa since their first meeting in the 2009-10 season.

The striker blasted home a wonderful shot to reduce the deficit of the game.

King Faisal huffed and puffed late in the game but couldn’t get the equalizer.
