Kwesi Appiah, whose contract expires in December, says he’s not worried about his future as Black Stars coach.
There has been constant debate surrounding the future of the 59 year old manager following the country’s abysmal performance at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
Appiah has been under intense criticism after guiding the team to its worst performance at the continental showpiece since 2006.
The Black Stars exited the tournament at the round of 16 stage after losing 5-4 on penalties to Tunisia.
However, two wins out of two in the opening games of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers could potentially set Kwesi Appiah on the road to redemption.
“The most important thing is being on contract until the end of December. I want to make sure I do the best that I can. As to whether I would love to continue or the management would like me to continue, I think that will be decided after,” Appiah said in an interview with Joy Sports after the 1-0 victory over São Tomé.
