Ahead of Ghana’s clash with Sao Tome and Principe in the 2021 AFCON qualifier in Sao Tome on Monadya afternoon, SC Paderborn 07 winger Christopher Antwi Adjei is hoping to make his debut for the Black Stars.
The swift winger was handed his maiden call-up by coach Kwasi Appiah ahead of Ghana’s game with South Africa on Thursday.
The German-born Ghanaian could not make his historic debut in that game due to issues with his documentation which nearly stalled his movement to Ghana.
But a last minute intervention by the Ghana FA saw Antwi Adjei getting his Ghanaian passport to enable him travel to Ghana.
The winger who watched the Black Stars whip the Bafana Bafana of South Africa by 2-0 from the stands on Thursday is in high spirit to earn his first start for the West African side.
“It will be a dream come true. I really can’t wait to start for Ghana against Sao Tome on Monday,” Antwi Adjei told footballmadeinghana.com in an exclusive interview.
“I couldn’t play against South Africa in the opening game because of issues with my passport but I really can’t wait to see myself playing for Ghana,” he added.
The winger last came to Ghana when he was 5 years old and has since been in Germany thereof.
Ghana will be taking on Sao Tome and Principe on Monday afternoon in the second group game of the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers.
