Black Meteors coach Ibrahim Tanko is wary of the threat the Olympic Pharaohs pose ahead of their crucial encounter in the ongoing U23 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana’s U23 team come into the match at the back of a 1-1 draw with Cameroon in their opening Group A clash on Friday whilst Egypt secured a hard fought 1-0 victory over Mali on the same day.
Speaking in his pre match presser, Ibrahim Tanko told reporters he expects a tough game against a dangerous Egyptian side but remained confident in his side’s ability to scale the hurdle.
“We know how dangerous the Egyptians can be but I am highly confident in my boys’ ability to deliver in such difficult matches”, Tanko said in his pre-match interview.
The gaffer added, “We know that the task ahead is not going to be an easy one for us, especially playing with the supporters behind their team but as I said I am very confident in my team and I believe they will play without fear to make every Ghanaian proud”.
Ghana’s match against Egypt will kick off at 8pm local time (6pm GMT) at the Cairo International Stadium.
