Troubled Kjetil Zacharriessen in Ghana to iron out differences with Asante Kotoko

Indignant Asante Kotoko manager Kjetil Zachariessen is reported to have arrived in Ghana and is set to meet the management of Asante Kotoko over his future.

The Norwegian gaffer was reported by the club to have absconded after their CAF Confederation Cup defeat to San Pedro in Abidjan, a report the agent of the trainer vehemently denied.

Reports in the Kumasi are that the former AshGold manager and his agewnt will be locked in a crunch meeting with the Porcupine Warriors to determine his future.

FootballMadeInGhana.com understands that the Porcupine Warriors want the expatriate trainer to resign but he is not ready to trigger that clause in his contract as he wants to be sacked in order to be entitled to a huge compensation package.

Insiders say Zachariessen is currently in the meeting with the leadership of the club at their Secretariat at Odeneho Kwadaso in Kumasi.

The Norwegian was seriously exposed to criticism after the side’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup and looks likely to be sent away by the club.

He was forced to stay in Ivory Coast after Asante Kotoko reported that his safety could not be guaranteed in Ghana following the anger among fans following their elimination, despite the club later reporting that he had absconded.

The Porcupine Warriors are likely to name a new coach in the coming week considering the tentative start date of the Ghana Premier League set for next month.

Kotoko have suffered double elimination from the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup this year.
