Ghana opened their U23 African Cup of Nations with a draw against Cameroon on Thursday night.

Habib Mohammed’s late strike cancelled Junior Evina’s beautiful second half free kick to earn Ghana a point in the game. rated the performance of the Black Meteors players by (10).

Kwame Baah(6/18) – Wasn’t tested much. Made some decent saves when called into action. He cant be blamed for Evina’s free kick.l goal.

Kingsley Fobi (7/10) – Great game from the right back. Kept it tight at the back. Surged foward to help Evans Mensah when ever the team was attacking. His crosses were on point.

Edward Sarpong (8-10)- Another brightest spot in the Ghana team. Was solid defensively and never put a wrong foot in the game.

Zackariah Fusseni ( 7/10)- You can’t blame him for Ghana’s goal. Dealt very well with the Cameroonian attackers. His understanding with Habib Mohammed kept getting better.

Habib Mohammed (7/10) – Committed an unnecessary foul which led to Cameroon’s goal. Redeemed himself late in the game by getting Ghana’s equalizer.

Simon Zibo (5/10)- Struggled to impose his dominance in the game. Looked lost in the box to box role. But contributed a lot defensively.

Micheal Agbekornu (7/10) – Good outing by the Dreams FC midfielder. Marshalled the midfield with his short passes. Won the ball many times in midfield.

Yaw Yeboah (5/10) – Not a great performance from the the skipper. Lost the ball many times in the middle. A game to forget for the Celta Vigo player.

Evans Mensah (8/10) – Great game by the former Inter Allies player. Was a constant threat to the opponent defence. He was the brightest spot in the team. Will still need to work on his final delievary.

Abass Issah (5/10)- Couldn’t live up to expectations. Was marked throughout the game. Showed some glimpses at the opportunity.

Kwabena Owusu (6/10).- Missed a couple chances in the game. His presence in the Ghana attack will cause a lot of problems to any opponent.


Samuel Obeng (4/10) – Showed a lot promises after coming on for Issah Abass. Very fast on the ball.

Emmanuel Lomotey – (6/10)- Stabilized the midfield after coming on for Simon Zibo. Made the team set up more complete in the second half. He might start in the second half after impressive cameo.

Evans Osei Wusu (3/10) – Late Cameo, didn’t make any impact in the game.
