Ghana’s U23 side the Black Meteors held their first training session in Cairo on Tuesday evening as they begin preparations for the African U-23 Cup of Nations opening match against Cameroon on Friday.
The Ghanaian contingent made up of 19 players, technical staff and some officials arrived in Egypt on Monday evening.
Kwabena Owusu jetted in from Spain early Tuesday morning with Issah Abass expected to arrive in camp to complete the squad.
Ghana is making its debut appearance at the continental gathering and will be eyeing one of the three slots to book qualification to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The country’s last representation in the Olympic football tournament was in Athens 2004.
