Following his wonderful outing with the Black Stars B in the WAFU Tournament and with AshGold in the CAF Confederation Cup, Shafiwu Mumuni has been handed his first call up into the Black Stars by Coach Kwasi Appiah.
The striker is one of seven debutants who have been given their maiden invitation.
The AshGold striker is touted as the most in form striker in West Africa after scoring his third hat trick in the 2019 calendar year during the WAFU Cup in Senegal.
The striker has become one of the red hot marksmen in West Africa due to his current run of form.
He scored nine goals in the NC Special Competition, including a hat trick against Aduana Stars.
Shafiu Mumuni also scored four goals in four games for AshGold in the CAF Confederation Cup including a hat trick in the space of 9 minute against Akonangui FC of Equatorial Guinea.
He also became the first player to score a hat-trick in the 2019 WAFU Tournament in Ghana’s 3-1 semi-final win over Ivory Coast.
The striker scored four goals in four games to emerge the top scorer of the WAFU Tournament which ended just recently.
