Raphael Dwamena is set for a spell on the sidelines following an unspecified heart problem which was discovered during a routine medical check up on Wednesday.
Real Zaragoza have confirmed that the Ghanaian international will undergo further examination to determine the full extent of the problem.
“The striker will undergo new tests to determine the extent of his illness. Real Zaragoza is confident of Raphael Dwamena’s fast and complete recovery,”
It can be recalled that in 2017, Brighton pulled the plug on a deal to sign Dwamena from FC Zurich due to a reported heart condition.
The Seagulls had agreed terms of a reported £10m fee to sign the 23-year-old from the Swiss side but a failed medical test meant that the deal fell through.
It is yet unknown whether this latest setback is related to the one he had two years ago but is expected to keep him out of action indefinitely.
