Colorado Rapids defender of the season Lalas Abubakar has revealed he want to stay at the club after impressing during his loan spell at the club.

The defender who joined the Colorado based club on loan from Columbus Crew expressed his wish to continue at the club despite pressure from Columbus Crew for his return.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Zuria FM, the defender expressed his wish to make his stay at Colorado Rapids permanent from Columbus Crew.

“I wish to stay with Colorado Rapids but I’m well informed that Columbus still want me back,”

” I told them to talk to Columbus Crew, I know it’s not going to be easy because Columbus wouldn’t want me to leave”

“Colorado Rapids have cherished me so well since going there and I believe my development will grow well with Colorado Rapids and I just want to continue with them.”

Lalas Abubakar featured in 22 games for Colorado Rapids since joining them from Columbus Crew in March.
