Hearts of Oak pip Okwahu United 2-1 in friendly

Hearts of Oak defeated lower-tier side Okwahu United 2-1 in a preseason friendly at the Nkawkaw Park on Sunday.

The first 45 minutes ended goalless, thanks largely to goalkeeper Emmanuel Goza who made a couple of stunning saves to keep the Ghana Premier League giants at bay.

However, the Phobians turned up the style in the second half and deservedly shot into the lead through Chris Bonney who converted from the spot.

MacLean Ampadu restored parity for hosts in the 66th minute against the run of the play.

Just as it looked liked the game was destined to end in a draw, William Dankyi stepped up for the visitors in the 84th minute to score the match-winner.

Kim Grant and his charges will now turn their attention to the upcoming Homowo Cup clash against city rivals Great Olympics.
