Ghanaian international Solomon Asante has been named USL player of the month for August.
It’s the first time Asante has received the honor.
The Phoenix Rising FC captain scored six goals and provided three assists while leading the club to six August wins.
The diminutive winger broke the club record for most goals ever (20) scored by a single player in a season.
He set a new USL Championship record for most combined goals and assists (33) in a season.
Solomon Asante, Adam Jahn, and Junior Flemmings also broke the USL Championship single-season record for most goals scored by a teammate trio (46).
Asante and his teammates will return to play Las Angeles Galaxy II at Casino Arizona Field this Saturday.
