Coach Ibrahim Tanko has dedicated Black Meteors triumph over Algeria in the African U-23 Championship qualifiers to all Ghanaians.
After last weekend’s 1-1 draw in Accra, coach Tanko and his charges were handed a daunting task to go all out for an unlikely win in the return encounter.
Captain Yaw Yeboah scored a beautiful solo goal in the 70th minute to give Ghana a hard fought 2-1 aggregate.
”This win is not for only them [Black Meteors players] and technical team. It’s for Ghana as a whole.” the 42 year old manager said.
The Black Meteors will join hosts Egypt and other qualified countries at the tournament which will be staged between 5-22 November.
The winner of the tournament and two runner ups will automatically advance to represent Africa at the 2020 Olympics Men’s Football Competition.
