A heavy downpour that preceded the President’s Cup clash between giants Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak has forced the postponement of the game after just 8 minutes at the Bank Yara Sports Stadium.
The soggy state of the pitch forced the referee to rain-off the game despite given a go-ahead earlier for kickoff.
The nature of the pitch stopped the flow of the game as the ball could hardly travel without being stopped by the stagnant water on the pitch.
The game will, therefore, be replayed on Monday at 15:00 GMT at the same venue.
Though both clubs agitated for the continuation of the game, the match officials were convinced that the pitch was not ready for association football.
